About Us

In my previous role at Google Classroom, I thrived as the Design Lead, growing in ways that ultimately led me to a management position. However, management turned out to be a challenge I wasn’t fully prepared for. All the confidence I had built up felt shaky as I navigated new responsibilities that I hadn’t anticipated. For the first time, I found myself questioning my skills and feeling uncertain about my capabilities.

In an effort to escape the pressure of self-doubt, I turned to hobbies that were completely unrelated to my job. One of those hobbies was crochet. At the beginning, it was a frustrating mess. I spent hours watching YouTube tutorials, reading blogs, and trying to follow patterns that seemed to make no sense. There were moments when I wanted to give up entirely—wondering why I couldn’t even create something as simple as a penguin. But, over time, something shifted within me.

With each stitch, I began to feel a small sense of accomplishment. Every time I figured out a difficult pattern or completed a row without mistakes, I was reminded that I could still learn and improve. Crochet became more than just a hobby—it became a subtle reminder that, even in unfamiliar situations, I was capable of growth. It taught me that challenges, no matter how daunting they seemed at first, could be overcome through patience and persistence. The pride I felt when I finally completed a project that I once thought was impossible was like a moment of personal triumph—what the Italians call fiero, the satisfaction of achieving something you didn’t think you could.

This journey of personal growth and rediscovery inspired the creation of The Woobles. At its core, The Woobles is not just about crochet; it’s about embracing the challenges of learning something new. It’s about the joy of realizing that, with effort and curiosity, you can conquer unfamiliar tasks and surprise yourself along the way. If I could take a simple ball of yarn and turn it into a penguin, then I realized that other, even bigger, challenges were within reach.

The Woobles is an invitation to reconnect with your own potential. It’s a space to experiment, to learn, and to create. It’s a reminder that growth often happens in unexpected ways and that simply trying, even when things seem difficult, holds great value. So, if you’ve ever felt stuck or unsure, I encourage you to grab some yarn and dive in. There’s a sense of fulfillment waiting for you on the other side of that first stitch. The possibilities are endless, and I can’t wait to see what you create.

Keep creating.
